The MWAC draft is held either 1-2 weeks before the start of the MWAC regular season. The draft is three rounds long, with each MWAC team getting one pick in each round (these picks can be traded leaving some teams with fewer or more picks). Each round lasts approximately one (1) hour, and the entire draft should last approximately three (3) hours. Players that are waived on draft day are not eligible to be selected later in the draft. Only players eligible to play in the NFL may be selected (that is, college players with college eligibility that have not announced for the NFL draft may not be selected). Teams that miss their time window to call in, may call in as soon as they can get through to the Commissioner to make their selection (they don't have to wait until the end of a round, etc.). Beginning with the draft, the following year's draft picks may be traded.
