Builds & Installs Houses for Wood Ducks

During the winter of '98, the boys of the Bear Den each built their own wood duck house by hand. On completion, they branded their house with "PACK 114". The finished houses were placed on the property of Consoiidated Papers in a special wetland mitigation project located along Highway P, near the Biron Dam.

In February and March of '99, each of the houses was checked, cleaned and maintained for the next nesting season. 2 of 11 houses checked by March 17 had remnants of duck eggshells...showing success!! Each of the houses showed signs of some wildlife activity...ranging from bees nests to bird nests.
