PC-Works: learning/serving community

Conserving works of the past,
sharing knowledge and inquiry,
so everyone’s future works!

PC-Works!
a network of adults who
    reflect on experience,
    share understanding,
    put thought into action,
creating a local culture of life, learning and service in Portage County, Wisconsin

Personal Connections – we build community one relationship at a time. Who do you know in person in our community? Whom do you affirm? Who knows you and your gifts?

Public Conversations – we contribute to culture at open meetings, group reflection and discussion. When can you sponsor, host, facilitate, or participate in adult learning opportunities?

Passionate Concerns – when you meet and warm up to others you begin to share your core values. What local, state, national, or global issue weighs on your heart urging you to take an action?

PC - where folks are going GLOCAL--
thinking globally and acting locally.

WORKS of the past -- books, essays, letters, art, video

WORKS today -- acts of mercy, charity, and justice

WORKS for the future -- systems that work for everyone.
C
Practical Collaboration – Share your vision, gifts, and best practices to weave a cooperative world–many threads of different perspectives make the tapestry of life.

Private Collections – churches, agencies, organizations, and individuals listing their resources online. Volunteers needed to identify and promote these “hidden treasures” that complement schools and public libraries.

Politically Correct & Provocative Controversy.
"This volunteer project is amazing! PC-Works helps create a county consortium of adult learners who value community education and works of the past, present and future. About half of the 35,000 volumes of the Deanery Library have been sponsored so far. More donations of space, money, and volunteer time are needed to help the vision become reality."
