When Dad, Norman Lerch, brought a book home from the library and proceeded to build two spinning wheels, we bought him a lamb. And I developed an interest in all things related to wool. Dad's spinning wheels still are put to use whenever I do a traditional spinning demonstration.

The 2006 Threads of History took place on July 15& 16 at the Heritage Park in Plover, Wisconsin.
We have participated for four of the last six years, wearing period dress and demonstrating crafts of an earlier time.

Susanna and Paul Gilk have entertained us every year with their beautiful music.

Wool Throws are about 50 X 75 inches.
Throws are made from 100% Shetland wool.
Needle felting is done using a small barbed needle to felt a ball of wool into a shape. The characters seem to build themselves as the needling progresses.
