Oblivious Nothing in this world is as it seems And all of it revolves around a central theme Money, power, sex and notoriety But I'm not one to accept this society All of my friends are unwillingly involved In the profession of hate they are enthralled So where do I stand as the omniscient one Not knowing who to trust until my life is done It seems as so; we all are in great need Of a demotion or two when we're in the lead It would keep us in check and destroy the ego And all of us would know that we're human when we go But that's not how civilization thinks They never can resist living on the brink Hollywood stars are paid more than the President And now we've lost sight of any type of etiquette The greed in the world is like a balloon And no one can accept when the goals are out of tune So I am left alone by all that should care And unlike most I know that life isn't fair Why is the world so untolerating? And those with the power are always just faking? Why must the world force itself upon you? Before you're old enough to even have a clue? Hypothetical questions have got me thinking "If the views were different would our race stop sinking?" Unfortunately we are coming to an end The fragile world we live in is needing us to mend But all we can see is the lie in front of us That everything will come out good if you only fuss Whining seems to win over everything now-a-days From the tiny piece of candy to the 12-to-13 dollar raise When will I feel that I am accepted? I wish my ideals had never been tested Now I am too strong to be a face in the crowd Someday you'll hear me screaming out aloud I want to get out of this lonely rapture I wish it was me that the lies would capture But instead I'm forced to see the end of our culture The way this is headed we don't have a future
