What I've done
Schooling
I graduated from Nekoosa High School (Nekoosa, WI) in 1980. I was involved in Band, A-V, Science, Math, and some shop. Beyond that I took what was required. I worked on the lighting crew for 2 school musicals and was the lighting director for 1. After high school I attended Milwaukee School of Engineering and earned a degree in Computer Engineering Technology. I was a member of a computer programming competition team, the Society of Automotive Engineers, the Association for Computing Machinery, and the computer club. I worked at a medical clinic for 1 year while at MSOE and for 1 year I worked as a TV technician.
Previous Career
Since then I have worked as a computer programming instructor for our local Technical College, as a mobile radio technician for a local company. I was the only service manager that Info Pro which became CBM Computer Center of Wisconsin Rapids ever had. In that capacity I earned an award from Epson America for being one of the top 10 service centers with respect to customer satisfaction in the nation. Soon after CBM was sold I parted company with the new company and went on my own and had a contract to develop software for Northwoods Enterprises.

When Northwoods Enterprises went out of business their assets including the software I wrote were bought by Advanced Marketing Concepts, Ltd.
I am now their Senior Software Engineer. I originally completed the development of a HyperCard based product for the Vinyl Window industry. After a few years it was decided to develop a similar product for MS-Windows based computers. Visual Basic is the environment for this product. It has been modified to make it useful for much of the home improvement industry. I now have a young programmer that works under me helping with the development of new and improved versions of this product line.

I only wish some of the big names that supply software that I use would stop passing the buck between each other as it would make development efforts much easier.

After that I worked for Coin Builders as a system engineer and programmer until Fall of 2005 when the company filed Chapter 11 and I was downsized out of a job. At this job I developed a number of applications for use in the warehouse and shipping department. I also developed the invoice printing program, credit card program, a messaging system, and a few others. I also designed, built, and maintained the network and all the VPN tunnels, etc.

Current Career
In October 2005 I started working for Wood County Telephone Company. This has been a change for the good. I am the Computer Systems Engineer responsible for all of the Windows Servers and all of the internal computers and associated networks. I'm also the Network Administrator.
