Criteria for Student Use
  1. In order to enter the LMC, a student must meet one of these requirements.
    1. Have a pass from a teacher or the office.
    2. Be part of a class using the LMC.
    3. Have permission from the LMC Director or the adult LMC aide.
    4. Be on the study hall list.
    1. Study hall students must report to study hall before coming to the LMC
    2. Each student will legibly write his/her own first and last name on the list.
    3. The students will come as a group to the LMC.

  2. Under most circumstances, students who come into the LMC must plan on staying for the entire period unless they have a pass from the LMC Director, the adult LMC aide, a teacher, or the office.

  3. The LMC Director reserves the right to limit the number of students in the LMC.

  4. In order to stay in the LMC, students must comply with all students must comply with all school and LMC rules including these:
    1. Students should be working on schoolwork, using the online system, or reading when they are in the LMC.
    2. Excessive noise or disruptive behavior is not permitted. If students must talk to someone, they should do so in a quiet whisper.
    3. There will be no eating or drinking in the LMC during regular school hours.
    4. Only one student at a time may use the hall pass.
    5. Permission must be obtained before using the TV/VCR. Permission must also be obtained before using any personal computer software on the LMC computers.
    6. No one is allowed in the backrooms (magazine morgue and AV equipment storage room) without permission.
    7. Students must show respect for all people (student aides, all school staff members, the LMC Director, the adult LMC aide, visitors, other students, etc.) and items in the LMC For example, there will be no writing on tables, chairs, books, magazines, or AV materials. Also, ask permission before cutting pictures out of magazines or current newpapers. Disrespectful language and/or gestures will not be tolerated.
    8. After using LMC materials, students are to return them to their proper place. If students are unsure about where the materials belong, they should place them on the main circulation table.
    9. Before leaving the LMC, each student is expected to clean up his/her area. Place all garbage (such as plastic, staples, spiral wire, etc.) in the wastebasket. Used paper should be placed in the special recycling boxes/special recycling containers.
    10. Students are required to stay in their seats until the bell, the LMC Director, or adult LMC aide dismisses them. Before leaving the LMC, each student is expected to return his/her chair to its proper place beside the table.

  5. A student may be asked to leave the LMC for failing to adhere to the appropriate behavior. Depending on the circumstances, library privaleges may be taken away for one day, a week, or longer.

  6. Any student who misuses materials or equipment may be required to pay restitution for damages and may lose the privalege of using them in the future. Vandalism will not be tolerated.
