The Board is composed of 4 officers, 3 at-large members, a newsletter editor and the Park Ranger. Board members serve for 2-year terms. Each year, 3 members are elected from the general membership.
The Board meets 4 times a year, with the annual meeting held at Rock Island State Park in the summer months.

Erik Lucia

President since 2008
Erik joined the Board as Vice President in 2007 when Bill Olsen retired and stepped up the the Presidency when Tim Sweet stepped down in 2008. With his wife, Cyndi, he has spruced up the Boathouse displays, museum room and Thordarson furniture. Erik lives in Luxemburg, WI. Email Erik.

Carey Baeten

Vice President since 2008
Carey joined the Board as Vice President in 2008 when Erik Lucia took over the Presidency. Carey lives near Green Bay , WI. Email Carey.

Colleen Andrews

Secretary since 1997
Colleen served as Board Vice President from 1995 - 1997 and as newsletter editor for a few years. She was elected Secretary in 1997 and continues in that role. She also hosts and edits our web site. She is from Almond, Wisconsin. Email Colleen.

Jeanell Dailey

Treasurer since 1997
Jeanell has served on the Board since 1994. She was elected Treasurer in 1997 and continues in that role. She is from Madison, Wisconsin. Email Jeanell.

Kirby Foss

Property Manager, Rock Island State Park

Kirby has been associated with Rock Island his whole life, having been raised on Washington Island. He became the park property manager and head ranger a few years ago. Email Kirby.

Lynne Diebel

Newsletter Editor since 2006
Lynne joined FORI and soon after volunteered to be our newsletter editor. She has served in that role since 2006. Lynne is from Stoughton, WI. Email Lynne.

Grace Ann Carpenter

Merchandising Coordinator
Grace Ann joined the board in 2004. She is our merchandising coordinator. She was a childhood friend of Chester Thordarson's granddaughter, Julie, and they remain friends today. Grace Ann resides on Washington Island. Email Grace Ann.

Jim Johnston

Jim joined the board in 2005. He is the past president of the Milwaukee Chapter of the Harbor Lights collectors club and has raised thousands of dollars in donations and brought lots of volunteer workers from his club for FORI Pottawatomie Lighthouse projects. Cyndi Lucia

Cyndi joined the Board in 2007 and is married to our Vice President. Along with her husband, Erik, she is sprucing up the Boathouse for the 2008 park season. She brings a lot of creative energy to our endeavors. She lives in Luxemburg, WI. Email Cyndi.

Tim Sweet

Past President (1997-2008)
Tim is a founding member of the Friends of Rock Island who served as Secretary since 1994 and was elected President in 1997. In 2008, he stepped down as he had taken on the role of the President of the new Friends of Plum and Pilot Islands (FOPPI) organization. He resides in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Email Tim.
